career, in which he was named MVP 9 times, 8 of which were consecutive seasons. He is
regarded as the best player of all-time, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1999 upon

Athletes of the Century, and was ranked the #1 Canadian Athlete of the Century as well. His
number 99 was retired across the entire NHL.
